What is an MOT?

An MOT test (known just as an ‘MOT’) is an annual test required by the Road Traffic Act 1988 for vehicle safety, roadworthiness and exhaust emissions. It is an annual test required in the UK for vehicles over three years of age.  

D & P Motors Ltd is a DVSA fully accredited MOT Testing Station and we have a FREE automatic reminder system to alert you in good time before your MOT is due. We take the stress out of remembering when your test is due. During the MOT, important parts on your vehicle will be tested and checked to make sure they meet legal standards.

Once we’ve completed the testing and approved an MOT certificate for your vehicle this confirms that it’s met the ‘minimum acceptable environmental and road safety standards’ required by law.  (Note: *An MOT certificate does not mean that the vehicle is roadworthy for the life of the certificate and is not a substitute for regular maintenance). We’ll retest your vehicle FREE of charge if we’ve carried out the repairs required. Some items need to be retested with 24 hours of the initial MOT and we’re happy to help with these too.
